The Neighbourhood shape moody alt-rock with R&B textures and cinematic atmosphere. Formed in Newbury Park, California in 2011, the band is led by vocalist Jesse Rutherford with guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels and bassist Mikey Margott. Their breakout single "Sweater Weather" introduced a grayscale visual identity and a sound that slides from airy falsetto hooks to shadowy basslines. The debut album "I Love You." set the tone, followed by "Wiped Out!", the self-titled "The Neighbourhood," and the chrome-sparked concept of "Chip Chrome & the Mono-Tones."
