BINI is an eight-member girl group composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena. They were formed in 2019 through ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy. Dubbed as “Nation’s Girl Group” due to their impact on the public and Philippine pop music, BINI’s group name is derived from the Tagalog word, “binibini,” which means, “young lady.” Bound together by their tagline, “walo hanggang dulo” (Eight until the end), the group is supported by their fans known as Blooms (stylized as BL∞MS). The group’s official color is Teal, inspired by the clear waters of the Philippine Sea. On November 20, 2020, BINI released their pre-debut track, “Da Coconut Nut,” before officially making their debut on June 11, 2021 with “Born To Win.” The group’s trajectory shifted with the release of “Pantropiko” on November 17, 2023. The track became a massive viral phenomenon on TikTok and was quickly regarded as the summer anthem of the Philippines. On June 9, 2024, they became the first-ever Filipino act to enter Spotify’s Top Artist Global chart and was quickly followed in June 14 by becoming the first Filipino act to top the Spotify Philippines' Daily Top Artist chart. They also became the first Filipino to win the “Best Asia Act” prize at the MTV Europe Music Awards in November 2024 and was named Billboard Philippines Women in Music’s “Rising Star” on the same year. In 2025, they were named as Billboard Philippines “Women of the Year” where they also celebrated as the number one Philippine act by Billboard Philippines in the magazine’s inaugural Global No. 1s series. In 2026, BINI was named Billboard Philippines “Powerhouse” and Billboard Women in Music 2026 “Global Force Honoree.” The same year where they made history as the first-ever all Filipino act to be in invited at the Coachella Valley Music Festival.
